My morning walk through Nant y coy woods often gives me ideas for the work.
I had been thinking from the beginning of the project that it would be really cool to use roots of trees for the feet of the figures.
This ,morning i found this fallen tree.

Here i have integrated the red flannel from the welsh woolen mill into the design.
This will line the raw fleece cloak.
Red flannel has been used historically in healing.I also really love the way the red white and black colours are coming into play within the work ,the alchemical colours.

These large looms at the National Wool museum are beautiful,this is an antique loom weaving traditional red flannel.
This mill is just about the only mill in Wales still producing red flannel

cradle project

Here is the beggining of the cradle piece,i am hoping that the copper wire will be able to give the cradle some structure when the piece is finished.
Copper is a wonderful material with so much symbolism, particularly about connectivity,the planet that is connected to copper is the planet Venus..
